High strength
Better strength/weight ratio than structural steel. It can be used for structural components in building and infrastructures.
Low weight
Pultruded profiles are 20-28% lighter than aluminum and 75% lighter than steel. They are easy to transport, handle and lift at the work site. Because of their characteristics, they are easy to pre-assemble in the shop and send to the work site for quick installation.
Corrosion resistant
Pultruded profiles do not deteriorate or rot. They are also resistant to a wide range of corrosive substances. Structural profiles and gratings are resistant to ultraviolet rays, salt water and chemical products. Minimal maintenance and long service life.
Fiberglass-reinforced polyester has a long service life, as it is not affected by environmental factors, such as rain or high salinity, for example. Maintenance costs are lower than those for similar structures made of conventional materials like concrete, steel or wood.
Quick assembly and machining
Profiles can be machined as quickly as wood. Ordinary or special cutting tools can be used, depending on the work to be performed. Because of their light weight, assembly and handling are easy tasks.
Do not conduct heat or electricity
Pultruded profiles have low thermal conductivity and do not conduct electricity. The profiles show good insulation properties, preventing thermal and electrical bridges.
Electromagnetically transparent
Pultruded profiles are transparent to radio waves, microwaves and electromagnetic waves.
Dimensional stability
The thermal expansion coefficient is slightly lower than that of steel and much lower than that of aluminum.
Low temperature performance
Pultruded profiles have excellent mechanical properties at low temperatures, even at temperatures as low as -50º C. Tensile strength and impact resistance are greater at -50º C than at +25º C.
Surface finishes
The color of the pultruded profiles is obtained when the resin is prepared, and any color that is required can be produced.
